Raven Hatchling Plush Toys For Sale

Two new Raven Hatchlings are ready to find new homes. “Gossamer” and “Dusk” are now for sale from my Etsy Shop!

Dusk the Raven Hatchling is curious and can get into trouble if not watched carefully. Like all Raven Hatchlings he loves to snuggle down with his family for some quiet time at the end of the day.

Gossamer the Raven Hatchling likes to watch the world from high places especially bookshelves. She is quiet and gentle and is happy to sit with people when they are reading or watching TV.

My Raven Hatchling plush toys made with love and care. Each is unique with its differences giving it it’s own personality. The Hatchlings are roughly 22cm (9inches) from nose to tail making them a lovely size to hold and hug.
They are made from soft black and grey fleece with black plastic safety eyes. Their eyes are highlighted with grey felt surrounds and their beaks have black felt tufts below. Their chubby bodies are filled with cuddly polyfil making them squeezeable and plump.

Each Hatchling comes with its own name take and beaded charm tied to its foot.

All of my plush creations are made with love in a smoke free home.

Each plush is carefully package in a cotton drawstring bag, boxed and sent via Australia Post. Tracking on international postage is available.

Psylocke Art Nouveau Prints

When I was a kid I thought Psylocke was cool. Rogue was my favourite but Psylocke was a close second.

Despite her ridiculous costume (everyone looked pretty outrageous in comics at that time) she had dark hair and a sword and wasn’t a villain (or at least only briefly). What little girl didn’t want to grow up to have long purple hair and be a ninja?

Here is my tribute to her as a poster I would have loved to have as a kid.

I will be selling this as prints at Supanova Melbourne 2017 and my other up coming conventions.

Mini Baby Groot Plush Toys For Sale

I have four (4) new Mini Baby Groots ready to find new homes. They are the perfect size to decorate a desk or as a cute companion in your spaceship.

Each one is approx. 18cm high (7 inches) inspired by the movie “Guardians of the Galaxy” character Baby Groot.

Made from quality tan fleece with black plastic safety eyes and filled with squeezable soft polyfil stuffing. The leaves and green body stripe/vine are made from light green felt. The white pot base is filled with plastic pellet “beans” to give it weight and stability.

Being handmade there are slight differences between each toy.

All of my plush creations are made with love in a smoke free home.

Life Drawing – 80’s Rock Queen Session with Tina Joy

Sketches from our last Covert Characters Life Drawing session with the 80’s Rock Queen, Tina Joy! Tina was an absolute delight and the 80’s classics playlist had everyone in bopping along and feeling good.

Custom Captain Jane Shepard Mass Effect Plush

Another commission from last year and probably one of the most complex plush toys I have created in a while, a custom chibi Captain Jane Shepard.

She is a small but huggable 16 inches tall plush made with high quality and very soft fleece material with felt and embroidered details.
The custom hair style and skin color was requested by the client. Her armour is made from dark grey and black fleece and felt with applique ribbon for the stripes. Her lips, eyes and all other embroidered/applique was done freehand. The base of her boots is re-enforced with plasticard to help them keep their shape (flat at the bottom) and help her stand.

Godzilla Plush

I designed and made this cute little Godzilla plush as a Christmas present for a friend who has everything. The plush would be roughly 30cm tall (I forgot to measure the finished plush once it was finished) made from grey-ish green fleece with grey felt claws and back spikes. There are plastic “beans” in the feet and bottom to help him sit up right and give him weight. The eyes are made with embroidered gold glitter felt.

I am thinking of simplifying this pattern to make smaller Godzilla plushies to sell in my shop and at my upcoming events.

Pair of Red & Gold Wedding Lion Dance Plush Toys

I was honoured to be asked to create a pair of Lion Dance plushies for a friend’s sister’s wedding. I am particularly proud of these toys, not only because I think they turned out really well but because I had only a week to make them both!

Made in lucky red and gold they are approx. 20cm long based on my existing pattern but with extra large heads to make them more “chibi”.
Like the previous lions they have silver faux leather mirrors on their foreheads and red felt “fringe” embroidered on the body and legs.
For these plushies I included extra pom pom details to the nose and head. The feet have been re-enforced with plasticard for balance and stability.

The plush lions were presented to the bride and groom in a very special lion dance performance.

Custom Cookie Monster Plush

A special secret commission for a friend at the end of last year. A cookie monster for a wonderful kooky monster 😀

Made from bright blue faux fur he sits roughly 25cm (10in) tall holding a embroidered felt chocolate chip cookie. The mouth is black felt reinforced with card and the eyes are ping-pong balls.

I love his tufts of fur on his fingers and toes.

Teaching Life Drawing Class March 8th Covert Characters

I will be hosting the “80’s Rock Queen” themed life drawing session at Covert Characters this Weds night, March 8th, at Workshop in Fitzroy. I will be speaking a bit about proportion and drawing while observing the figure at the start of the class and answer any questions and providing more tips during the mid point break.

Covert Characters is a great class for anyone new to life drawing or artist wanting to join a causal friendly group to enjoy sketching.

I will be teaching more classes this year and hope to announce them more in advance in the future. Be sure to follow the Covert Character’s Facebook page to keep updated on up coming events 🙂

New Plush Toys For Sale

I have a few new toys made, like this Alien Xenomorph plush, that I will be selling at my upcoming events. This Saturday Feb 4th I will be selling a few of my handmade plush toys at All Star Comics Back Issue and Toy Fair including this cute/scary one, adorable Baby Groots and more!

The next event will be Supanova Melbourne April 28-30 where I will be selling prints, plush toys and other goodies. Afterwards all remaining toys will be for sale in my Etsy Shop.
