Big Trouble in Little China – Gracie Law Commission

Now that the surprise has been revealed I can share this ‘blind commission’! I was given the choice of 3 characters and asked to not share anything about this commission until the client received it so they could be completely surprised! I had never seen the movie and borrowed the dvd to check that my online research was good before doing the final inking. What a crazy film!

Angela Art Nouveau Poster Commission

The final scan of my Angela Art Nouveau poster commission. Copic Multiliners and ink wash on Bristol board. I’m really pleased with how this piece came out! I am still taking a few more more commissions like this. If you’re interested contact me for more details 🙂

Dejah Thoris Art Nouveau Commission

Dejah Thoris Art Nouveau style commission finished. I got carried away designing her jewellery. I really wanted it to look uniquely alien but also a plausible design.

I am taking a few ‘Art Nouveau poster’ style commissions like these. Ink on A3 (29.7 x 42 cm, 11.69 x 16.53 inches) bristol board. Shipping worldwide. If you’re interested contact me for details – lily(at)MyBeautifulMonsters.com 🖤

Art Nouveau Portrait Commission

An Art Nouveau portrait commission from last year of the client’s lovely wife. It needed to have lots of swirls to show off her long blonde hair. Watercolor and ink on A4 cream bristol paper.

Zatanna Commission

A commission from several months ago for a local collector who now has 2 of my favourite drawings.  The Art Nouveau Death and now this Zatanna are his. I love being asked to interpret these characters and really design the whole page.

The original pieces are drawn directly into his designated character commission sketchbooks. These books are fill with great sketches from artist from around the world. Truly a treasure.

Copic Multiliner and ink wash. Roughly A3 size ( The image spans the back 2 pages of the book, digitally edited to remove the join – Thanks Dave!)

D&D Group Character Portrait Commission

I was recently commissioned to illustrate a D&D group as a gift for their DM. They are playing in a Japanese and Chinese inspired fantasy setting which made designing their costumes and armour so much fun. I loved capturing the details and personalities of each of the players’ characters.

From left to right: Shaylynn Galascient a Sunrise High Elf Eldritch Knight armed with her magical flaming long sword, Sora Loarn a human monk martial artist and archer, General Vandrar Bloodtørst a Hill Dwarf Paladin heavily armed with ranseur, warhammer and short javelins and holding his sacred Forever Stone, Maki is a perky human Warlock equipped with her Robe of Useful Things and her treasured Book of Shadows, Thrym is a Therian Rogue a charming thief with trusty Rope of Climbing, daggers, goblin bow and cleaver.

May the Fourth be with you – Happy Star Wars Day!

Happy #StarWarsDay #MaytheFourth
Here are some of my tributes to Star Wars from the last couple of years. The movies have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember so it was only recently that I realised what a influence they have been

Kratos God of War

Grumpy Kratos in the morning 😡
I only played a bit of God of War (1) years ago. I thought his Blades of Chaos and attack animations were cool.

Copic Mulitliner on bristol paper 9×12″

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Buffy was another show that I think I would have really liked but have only seen a few episodes because I didn’t get to watch a lot of tv growing up. Maybe too much teenage drama and 90’s fashion for me to watch now?

Commission Sketch – Copic Mulitliner on bristol paper 9×12″

Luke Skywalker Ink Drawing

Luke Skywalker – Copic Multiliners on bristol paper

My dad loved Star Wars so its probably the first sci-fi I ever watched. The original movies are still some of my favourites even today.
A fairytale set in space with a farmboy setting out to become a knight teaming up with a space cowboy con man and a princess who is smarter and better at fighting then both of them.

I still have a few $50 commission slots open for original drawings like this one. Finished artworks can be picked up from Supanova Melb or Oz Comic Con.
