Dr Sketchy’s Life Drawing -Vintage Beauties & Yves Klein Tribute

Gallery Notice : Images have either not been selected or couldn't be found

Another magical night with Dr Sketchy’s! Camilla & Michelle were dazzling vintage beauties and than beautiful blue muses. The performance and poses to follow inspired by Yves Klein was something truly special!

It was a really fun experiment with drawing with the blue watercolor pencil and then paint over it with water. I then could draw over the wet paper again to emphasis shadows and lines.

Looking forward to the next wild art party!

Every Dr Sketchy’s event is wonderful and totally unlike any other drawing class. I tried to explain it to my friends as “Burlesque-like Performance Art Event with Audience Participation and Some Drawing”! Its more important that everyone is having a good time experiencing art and making art than studying form and improving technique.

The last session was truly incredible and fun in the unique way only Dr Sketchy’s Melbourne art parties can be! Thank you Mel, Agent Cleave and Dandrogyny for an amazing night  🙂

Dr Sketchy’s Life Drawing featuring Zelia Rose

I had a great night 2 weeks ago sketching and catching up with friends at the always fabulous Dr Sketchy’s Melbourne!

Zelia Rose is stunning, her costumes (made by her) were beautiful and so rich in detail. I did my best to capture her grace and glowing smile.

Strip Strip Hooray – Melbourne

StripStripHooray_2016_01

This weekend I got to cross “See Dita Perform” off my life to-do list! Strip Strip Hooray returned to Melbourne for 2 encore shows after the first sold out within hours and I wasn’t going to miss my chance!

All of the performers were incredible and EVERYTHING sparkled! Dita’s iconic performances are iconic for good reason. She is impossibly graceful and precise yet genuinely seemed to enjoy herself.  Did I mention that everything was sparkly – breathtakingly, dazzlingly sparkly.

The opening act was her Martini Glass routine and the crowd was instantly mesmerised. When she splashed it looked like diamonds falling in slow motion. This small (14x19cm) painting is my attempt to capture that.
