I’m late sharing this here but here is my “Christmas Card” for 2018, continuing my Art Deco Christmas flora fashion illustrations – now with puns! 🌲The end of this year has be busy, hard and brought a lot of changes. It was nice to take a few hours on Christmas Eve to draw this. Wishing you all a very happy festive season 🌟
Protection Spell
I’ve been working on this personal piece for a few months now in the few spare hours I could find.

Zatanna Commission
A commission from several months ago for a local collector who now has 2 of my favourite drawings. The Art Nouveau Death and now this Zatanna are his. I love being asked to interpret these characters and really design the whole page.
The original pieces are drawn directly into his designated character commission sketchbooks. These books are fill with great sketches from artist from around the world. Truly a treasure.

I’ve had some health problems lately and I decided to draw mermaids to cheer myself up #mermay
I wanted to create some decorative ornament like designs.

I had this idea and sketched out a tiny scribbley thumbnail about a year ago. I started collecting reference images and refined the sketch. I would work on it when I got a chance but it wouldn’t look right. So I would leave it. I would restart again with the thumbnail. More reference. Restarting it again. And again. And again.
And then something clicked and I restarted and finished the painting in about a week. What clicked? Her wings couldn’t be majestically outspread, to be descending they would be pulled back and smaller. And the composition fell into place.
Indiana Jones Ink Drawing
Raiders of the Lost Ark is one of my favourite movies. It has everything that makes a great story. And the cinematography is masterful.
